Senator Cory Gardner has co-sponsored a bill aimed at repealing the federal estate tax, or death tax that could adversely affect farmers and small business owners in Colorado. Gardner says the tax has had a negative affect on Colorado families, especially those in rural farming communities, because the government levies a tax on the transfer of a family farm or businesses after the owning member passes away. Gardner says the Federal Government shouldn’t profit from the death of a family member. The repeal of the Death Tax is supported by the numerous farm and business groups in the U.S.
