Numerous staff members and residents from Sandrock Ridge Care and Rehabilitation showed up to the County Commissioners meeting yesterday, to ask for the County’s assistance in expediting processing of Medicaid applications, which are partially administered by the Moffat County Department of Social Services. The staff from Sandrock who spoke at the meeting said that they had been experiencing communication issues with the Department and long wait times for Medicaid application processing. The length of time the facility has had to wait for Medicaid applications to be processed has resulted in financial issues for Sandrock Ridge. The rehabilitation center houses 51 residents, 40 of which are on Medicaid. While the County Commissioners declined to comment on specific cases at the meeting yesterday, they are expected to release a statement regarding the situation sometime today.
