The Island Park and Rainbow Park roads in Dinosaur national Park reopen today for public access. The roads were closed early last month due to multiple washouts and severe storm damage in the area. Park staff along with the Uintah County Roads Department has repaired the roads enough to allow access to the Rainbow Park Campground and Boat Launch, Mckee Springs Petroglyphs and the Ruple Ranch area. Monument staff will continue to work throughout the spring and summer to provide a long term solution to the problems and will also look to minimize future washouts in the area. For additional information on the road repairs call (435) 781-7700. Pictured the washout that occurred, photo courtesy of Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
