The coal industry and Moffat County officials are urging residents to participate in next week’s rally for coal miners and power plant workers. The rally will be held near the state Capitol on the 29th, the first day of hearings being held in Denver. Moffat County Commissioner John Kinkaid will lead off the first day of testimony just after 9 that morning. Organizers of the rally are hoping to bring awareness of the harmful effects new carbon emission rules will have on coal producing counties in the state. Buses will take anyone who would like to make the trip to Denver. The rally is being sponsored by the coal industry, Americans for Prosperity, and the Independence Institute. If you can’t make it to Denver, a supporting rally will be held in Craig, at which the Denver rally will be Skyped to the supporters in Craig.
From the Affordable Energy Coalition:”If you can not make it to the Denver Rally on Tuesday July 29 th , there will be a Craig Rally that day at the Clarion Inn and Suites of Craig from 12 Noon to 1 pm to support our local miners and power plant workers. Come show your support, enjoy a Hot Dog and some Snacks. The Denver Rally will be “Skyped ” back to Craig. Craig and Moffat County’s Economy needs your support!”
