Several energy bills will be introduced in the House today that are geared more toward voters than Congress. Republicans have put together a package of energy bills that contradict the Obama administration’s energy and climate policies. While the lawmakers know the package will be among the hundreds of bills they have already sent that won’t get past Senator Harry Reid to the Senate floor, they want Americans to see what it would be like to have a Republican controlled Congress. The lawmakers say aggressive climate and energy policies are threatening community economies, and increasing energy costs. The legislation being introduced today states the Republicans’ views on energy security, climate change, solar energy, and the keystone pipeline, among other things.
