Wildfires season in here. A number of brush fires have occurred around Craig in the past week. Due to hot and dry conditions in the area, a Red Flag Warning is in effect Tuesday for much of Northwest Colorado. With gusty winds of 25 mph and low humidity, there is a potential for fire to spread rapidly and get out of control. Due to those conditions you are encouraged to report any sign of smoke immediately by calling 911. Also, be sure to use caution when operating spark of flame producing machinery in grass or brush areas. Fire danger is expected to diminish slightly tomorrow as high temperatures will dip back into the 80’s, but the risk of wildfires will remain, so you should continue be extra cautious when using fire or machinery outdoors.
