Rain showers in the area yesterday provided some relief to Beaver Creek Fire crews. The rain helped to suppress the intensity of the fire, but as temperatures increase, vegetation will dry out and again become susceptible to embers. Additional rain is expected today so conditions should continue to improve slightly. Before the rain began yesterday the area affected by the fire was over 13,000 acres. The fire, which is burning northwest of Walden about 2 miles from the Wyoming border, is still only 5% contained.
