Pre-evacuation orders are still in place due to the Deep Creek Fire, which ignited Monday in West Routt County, near Wolf Mountain ranch between Milner and Hayden. The fire grew from 2 to over 400 acres in a very short period of time, prompting officials to advise residents near the fire to be prepared to leave their homes if necessary. The Deep Creek Fire is now estimated at over 2,000 acres as of Tuesday around noon. The fire is burning close to where the Steer Park wildfire was discovered about a week ago. Crews are trying to determine if the Steer Park fire, which is believed to have been caused by a lightning strike, reignited over the weekend, resulting in Monday’s blaze.
