Organizers of tomorrow’s pre-EPA meeting barbecue in Craig have raised over $3,000 from local businesses and citizens to put on the feed. They expect to be able to serve about 600 people. The barbecue is free and open to the entire community, starting at 5 tomorrow. Following the barbecue, which will be held in the Moffat County High School parking lot, the gathering will move inside to the auditorium for a visit with the EPA’s Regional Administrator, Shaun McGrath. McGrath was asked to visit Moffat County during EPA hearings in Denver on the agency’s new carbon emissions rules. Moffat County Commissioner John Kinkaid wanted McGrath to hear from those that will be directly harmed by the new rules. Speakers include coal industry, local charity, elected official, school district and college representatives. A few of the speakers, along with McGrath will take questions from the public. The meeting starts at 6:30, and is expected to last about 2 hours.
