The Maybell area experienced power outages on Monday and Tuesday. The first outage, where power was off for about 45 minutes, was attributed to a substation failure caused by weather. A nine hour outage occurred Tuesday when a power pole went down in a remote area. The length of that outage was due to the amount of time it took YVEA to clear an access route for their equipment to the site of the downed pole. Monday’s outage affected the Maybell, Elk springs and Sunbeam areas. Tuesday’s outage affected Maybell, Juniper Springs and Sunbeam areas.
