There were two power outages in Moffat County yesterday. The first began at around 4 yesterday afternoon in the Maybell area. About 300 members were affected, and the outage lasted until around 9. Another outage, this time in Craig, had firefighters responding to a local hotel to deal with a person stuck in an elevator. The outage, which started a little before 7 and lasted for around two hours, struck at just the wrong time for a patron at the Deer Park Inn. The guest found himself trapped in the hotels elevator for about 20 to 30 minutes before Craig Fire Rescue volunteers got him out. The Craig outage affected about 3900 customers. According to officials with Yampa Valley Electric Association, both outages were weather related.
