Passenger Killed In Saturday Truck Accident On Highway 40

A single vehicle accident on Highway 40 12 miles east of Kremmling, involving a large box truck, claimed the life a Colorado man. The accident occurred late Saturday afternoon when 19-year-old Justin K. Schwear, of Wheatridge, drove off the right side of the road, colliding with numerous trees. The truck eventually ended up back on the road after sustaining tremendous damage. A passenger in the truck, 19-year-old Terren L. Spitz, also of Wheatridge, sustained traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital in Granby. The crash is currently under investigation by the Colorado State Patrol. Speed or impairment are NOT suspected as contributing factors in the crash.
