PARKS AND WILDLIFE SAYS SAGE GROUSE RESEARCH FUNDING WON’T SUFFER

sage_grouse-300Colorado Parks and Wildlife has sent a letter to the Moffat County Commissioners, assuring them research on Sage Grouse issues will not suffer as a result of budget cuts.  When the commissioners heard the CPW was adjusting their budget, they wrote a letter urging them not to take any money away from Sage Grouse research.  The commissioners say it’s vital that the research is being conducted on the state wide and local levels, and to decrease that funding would leave the state vulnerable to the whims of the federal government.  Wildlife officials say they will continue to conduct their research at the same funding levels.
