One Dead In Highway 13 Accident

One person was killed yesterday afternoon in a 2 vehicle accident on Highway 13 just north of Rifle. A 24-year-old male lost control around 3:30, resulting in his car sliding across the highway, where it was t-boned by a vehicle being driven by a 58-year-old Colorado woman, closing the highway for about two hours. The driver that lost control sustained serious injuries, while one of his passengers, a 37-year-old female from Salt Lake was killed. Two other passengers in that vehicle sustained unknown injuries. The driver of the other vehicle sustained only minor injuries while her only passenger, a 66-year-old male, was seriously injured.
