Universal swing for the Woodbury Playground

Woodbury Park is getting a new playground. Craig City Council approved the $336,000 to build the playground which will be certified as part of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Here’s Craig Parks & Rec Director Ryan Dennison

The city is applying for a grant to help pay for the playground project. It is expected to be approved by council at their meeting Tuesday, to cover at least half of the cost. Final designs are being done now. When the weather gets better, the current structure will be removed and the new one should be in by May or June at the latest.

Enrolled Veterans can get vaccinated for COVID-19 at the VA Medical Center in Grand Junction this Saturday. Here’s Kayla Holst with the VA Western Colorado Health Care System.

You must be an enrolled Veteran using the VA medical services at their the VA Hospital in Grand Junction, the clinic in Craig or in Glenwood, or the Mobile Medical Unit in Rangely to be vaccinated this Saturday in Grand Junction, if you want to make the drive. Walk-in hours are from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, at 2121 North Ave. in Grand Junction.

In Moffat County right now, there are six active cases of people with COVID-19. The total number of cases reported since the beginning is at 773. Three people have been admitted to the COVID unit at Memorial Regional Health right now. 24 Moffat County residents have died with COVID. This is according to Moffat County Public Health as of Thursday.

The COVID count in Routt County is up to 1,813 total positive cases from the beginning of the pandemic. There are seven more positive cases on Thursday from the day before, with 59 cases in the past week and 132 in the past two weeks. That’s according to the CDPHE.

About a year from now, the WinterWonderGrass Music & Brew Festival will be back in Steamboat. It was canceled this year because of COVID. Festival organizers have announced the headlining act will be the band, Trampled by Turtles. They’ll be on stage with over 20 other Bluegrass and Americana artists. WinterWonderGrass is Feb. 25-27 in 2022.
