New Name For Owners of Steamboat Mountain

The group that purchased the Steamboat Ski Resort has announced a new name for their organization. The group, consisting of KSL Capital Partners and Henry Crown and Company, now manages 12 premier ski destinations in North America including Steamboat, has been renamed Alterra Mountain Company. Alterra Mountain Company’s goal is to preserve, sustain and support its two most important resources, the mountains and the people who live and play in them. The company purchased Steamboat Ski Resort last year, the fifth time the Steamboat Resort changed hands since it opened in 1963.
