Near Head On Accident On Highway 40

Two people were injured in a near head on collision outside of the McDonalds in Craig yesterday afternoon. A female driver, who was leaving McDonalds, failed to see a vehicle traveling east, resulting in the vehicles colliding around 3. Airbags deployed in the vehicle that was hit and the passenger in that vehicle was transported to the hospital with what was believed to be a broken ankle. The driver who pulled out of McDonalds was cited for failure to yield. She sustained a minor cut on her forehead, but refused transport to the hospital. All involved were wearing seat belts when the accident occurred. Photos from the scene of the accident courtesy of Doug Slaight for Craig Fire and Rescue, click to enlarge.
