Efforts to erect a memorial to the Moffat County soldiers killed during the 2nd World War will become reality this week when the memorial will be set just north of the Craig VFW. Topping off the memorial will be a full size bronze of a World War 2 foot soldier. The bronze will be set on a four sided granite pedestal base. Engraved into the base of the pedestal will be the names of the 30 soldiers from Moffat County that died while serving between 1939 and 1945. The construction on the memorial is to start Tuesday. A formal dedication will be done at a future date. Pictured below: the bronze statue that will adorn the memorial. Click to enlarge.
