Moffat County announced closures for two area bridges last week. Due to structural issues, the walking bridge on the Kiwanis Trail at Loudy-Simpson Park will be closed until further notice. The county is asking the community to keep off the bridge while the closure is in effect. The Swinging Bridge in Browns Park will be fully closed April 2nd through the 1st of August, to allow the decking and the structure of the bridge to be repaired and replaced. The Swinging Bridge has been open only to foot traffic since June of 2014, after a tractor broke through the decking of the bridge, rendering it unusable to motorized traffic.
