Trapper EA Nears Completion

Trapper-Mine-300At her tour of trapper mine yesterday, Janice Schneider, the U.S. Department of the Interior’s “Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management” sat down with representatives from Tristate Generation as well as Moffat County Commissioner John Kinkaid.  Topics of discussion included the Transwest transmission line, the environmental assessments and permits for Trapper and Colowyo mines, BLM planning, Sage Grouse mapping, and the Swinging Bridge Assessment. The primary reason for the secretaries visit was to review the environmental assessments for the mines, the Trapper environmental assessments scheduled to be completed by the end of this month.
