Minimum Wage Measure Approved For Vote

MINIMUM WAGEA measure to increase the minimum wage in Colorado has received enough signatures to get on the November ballot. The proposed change would increase the minimum wage in the state to $12 an hour by 2020. The group responsible for putting the measure on the ballot, collected nearly 190,000 signatures, only 90,000 were required. The Colorado Secretary of State is still reviewing signatures on proposed ballot measures that would increase the sales tax on tobacco, allow independents to vote in Colorado primaries, and a measure that would adopt mandatory set backs for new oil and gas developments. The deadline for these measures to be approved is September 7th.
