The Moffat County Commissioners, last week, signed off on a grant agreement with the Department of Local Affairs, that will see new playground equipment at Loudy Simpson Park in Craig, and the community park in Maybell. The county wasn’t able to get the grants through Great Outdoors Colorado, so instead applied for the DOLA grant, which will be partially matched by the county and other community donors. County funds were raised through their annual auction. Other organizations also contributed, such as the City of Craig and a women’s club in Maybell. The total cost of both projects is expected to be a little over $100,000. The new equipment will replace old and outdated equipment at both parks.
