A Steamboat man pleaded guilty to multiple counts of Sex Trafficking, Sex Trafficking of a Minor and Attempted Sexual Assault earlier this week. 61-year-old Miguel Diaz-Martinez was arrested after police discovered he had been trading drugs with minors in exchange for sex. When he is sentenced in November, Diaz-Matinez faces up to 50 years in prison. Diaz-Maritnez was arrested on the charges in 2016. District Attorney Brett Barkey says the plea agreement secures a virtual life sentence for Mr. Diaz-Martinez, without the nine victims having to testify about the horrible things they experienced.
