An individual was arrested earlier this week after they broke into the Wyoming Governors residence. The man, who has been identified as Antonie Lewis, gained entrance to the residence around 1:30 Tuesday morning. Lewis then activated a fire alarm before hiding inside the home. He was taken into custody without incident. Lewis was booked into the Laramie County Detention facility on charges of aggravated burglary and criminal entry. Neither Governor Matt Mead, nor his family was harmed in the incident. After the situation was resolved, Governor Mead expressed his gratitude for the Fire Department and law enforcement response. According to a release about the incident, Wyoming law enforcement will be increasing the level of security in and around the Governor’s residence for the foreseeable future. The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation is currently investigating the situation.
