Man Arrested After Greeting Cops With Gun

A Utah man was arrested last week in Reliance, after he met cops at his door with a gun. 31-year-old Brian Olsen of Price was wanted on a warrant for allegedly brandishing a firearm during a road rage incident.  When Sweetwater County deputies responded to his residence to attempt to arrest him, Olsen allegedly answered the door holding a loaded shotgun. After a brief verbal altercation, Olsen surrendered the weapon and was taken into custody. No shots were fired, and neither Olsen nor any Sheriff’s Office personnel was injured during the encounter. During the investigation into Olsen, authorities determined that Olsen was likely also involved in illegal drug activity. His home was searched, with detectives uncovering multiple firearms and a sizable marijuana grow operation of approximately 80 plants in various stages of growth. In addition to the original warrant, Olsen was also charged with possession of a deadly weapon with unlawful intent, reckless endangering, interference with a peace officer, possession of more than 3 ounces of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, and cultivation of marijuana, all felonies.
