“Make My Day” Law Amended

make my dayA prison cell may be considered a home to the individual living there but that doesn’t mean they can use deadly force to defend it. That’s according to a bill approved in the Colorado State House last week, the bill clarified Colorado’s so-called “Make My Day” law, which allows deadly force against threatening intruders. This law has been used at least twice to exonerate inmates who killed fellow prisoners who entered their cells. The bill faces one more House vote before heading to the Senate for approval.
