The Moffat County Sheriff’s Office is entering into an agreement with the Town of Dinosaur for law enforcement services. The town has gone without law enforcement immediately available in the past, and have also experimented with hiring a Marshall. However, the town recently entered into negotiations with the sheriff’s office to have those services provided. As of Tuesday, the Intergovernmental Agreement had yet to be signed, but Sheriff K.C. Hume said enforcement had already started. While the Sheriff’s Office has always responded to calls in the area, the agreement will include a deputy assigned specifically to the town. Stationing a deputy in the area will ensure timely response to calls.
