Lost Solar Fire Nearly Doubles In Size

WILD FIREHigh winds and low humidity over the past couple days have resulted in rapid growth in The Lost Solar Fire, burning in the Flat Top Wilderness area about 25 miles east of Meeker. The lightning started Fire which began a month ago, is now estimated at just over 2,000 acres, nearly doubling in size since Monday. Due to the fires remote location on a rocky hillside, crews have only been monitoring it to ensure it stays within an established perimeter. Currently the fire is well within that area. Hunters and hikers in the area are asked to contact the Ranger Station in Meeker if they are planning activities near the fire.
