Lighting Ignites Fire Near Craig

Rain Sunday night helped control a small fire that occurred on Moffat County Road 100, near Airport road southeast of Craig. Crews responded to the lightning started fire around 11 and were able to get it fully under control in half an hour. Craig firefighter Troy Hampton said rain had extinguished the majority of the flames from the 25 square foot blaze by the time firefighters arrived, so all crews had to do was extinguish some hot spots. No buildings were affected and no one was injured in the incident.
