Moffat County Public Health is holding another mass vaccination clinic on Monday, April 5, with plans to vaccinate over 500 people. This after vaccinating almost 600 Colorado residents last Saturday. Here’s Moffat County Public Health Director Kari Ladrow.

Look for the box that says Appointments Available and scroll down on the right of the box until you find an open spot. If you cannot get through on the link, call public health at 970-629-4002 and leave a message. They will get back to you. The clinic is for anyone 18 years old or older. It’s at 1050 Industrial Ave. which is at the Craig Fire/Rescue facilities behind the old Kmart. The vaccine is the Johnson & Johnson one-dose vaccine.

RHDV-2 has been discovered in 15 Colorado counties, including neighboring Garfield. It’s called Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus type 2. It was found in some dead cottontail rabbits in Garfield County, just south of Silt. The virus is considered a foreign animal disease that can have a significant impact on domestic rabbits as well.

The Craig Urban Renewal Authority meets Thursday evening. The meeting is at City Hall in Council Chambers from 4-6 p.m.  https://www.ci.craig.co.us/

Routt County Commissioners approved the purchase of two Caterpillar motor graders to add to the 16 others in the fleet, at their meeting Tuesday. One was paid for mostly with insurance money after a motor grader was hit by a train last summer.

As more people are vaccinated for COVID-19, more people are out driving. April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, nationwide. CDOT wants you to consider your driving habits behind the wheel and be careful. Drivers who are most distracted and causing crashes are between the ages of 21-30. Over 15,000 crashes were caused by distracted drivers in Colorado each year.

The deadline for hunters to apply for a primary big game draw is at 8 p.m. next Tuesday. Apply through Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
