It’s All Meats March in Moffat County to support local agriculture and livestock producers, as proclaimed by the Moffat County Commissioners.

Next week is Agriculture Week in Routt County, as officially proclaimed by the Routt County Commissioners Tuesday.

That’s Routt Commissioner Tim Redmond of Hayden. Marsha Daughenbaugh is with the Routt County Cattlewomen, and was in full support of the proclamation.

This Saturday is also Meat-In Day for Moffat County, with festivities downtown from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Alice Pleasant Park. Torin Gray is a junior at Moffat County High School. He’ll be there with the local FFA and 4H kids serving hamburgers,

Then the Moffat County Cattlewomen will be at Vallarta’s from 4-6 p.m. Saturday.

Also on Saturday, it’s Meat Appreciation Day in Yampa. Starting at noon on Moffat Avenue in Yampa Saturday, bring some meat and a way to cook it for a big BBQ to support Routt County’s local ranchers.

Vaccinations will be available to more people as of Friday, according to state guidelines. That includes those over 50 and restaurant workers. Moffat County Public Health has provided a list of where and how to receive a vaccination. It includes City Market, Walmart, and Walgreens, also Memorial Regional Health, Moffat County Public Health, and Northwest Colorado Health. That information is on our website and Facebook page.

A perpetual conservation easement has been acquired in Rio Blanco County. It’s on the Coal Creek Ranch which is about 10 miles northeast of Meeker, next to the White River National Forest and near the Jensen State Wildlife Area. The transaction with Colorado Parks and Wildlife includes a 20-year access agreement that will allow for public fishing and limited, reservation-managed archery and muzzleloader hunting. The ranch stays in private ownership. The easement was acquired for $720,000 using money from the Colorado Wildlife Habitat Program.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has launched a more robust COVID-19 website in Spanish. The site will help Spanish readers stay up-to-date on the pandemic response, access important information on accessing vaccinations, get support, and obtain critical guidance to help protect themselves from the virus.  https://covid19.colorado.gov/espanol
