A United Express flight out of Yampa Valley Regional Airport in Hayden had a rough landing at DIA Tuesday morning. The back tires blew when the plane landed.

53 people were on board and that was one of the passengers, who is from Steamboat. They deplaned out on the runway. No one was injured.

Fire crews are wrapping up operations on the Indian Valley Fire. It is about 16 miles north of Meeker. Lightning started the fire June 20, and it burned 6,310 acres. The Sulphur Fire burned close to 1,000 acres five miles north of Meeker and it is 100 percent contained. Lightning also started that fire. Rio Blanco County Road 11 has also re-opened.

The Silver Creek Fire continues to burn in Routt National Forest. It’s on Gore Mountain in the Sarvis Creek Wilderness and about 180 acres have burned. Fire officials say it is growing in a remote area with beetle-killed lodegepole pines. And the best way to put it out will be with heavy rain, and possibly even snow. The Forest Service is getting calls from hunters since the area is closed.

The Cache Creek Fire about eight miles southwest of Rifle in Garfield County has grown to about 400 acres and is at zero percent containment.

A motorcyclist died in a single vehicle crash, on Highway 40, about a mile east of Granby, in Grand County Tuesday. The 69-year-old man from Massachusetts went off the road and hit a guardrail. He was wearing a helmet. State Patrol is investigating.

A hiker died on Quandary Peak in Summit County Tuesday. The 67-year-old man suffered a heart attack about a half mile up the trail.

Thursday is the last day to sign up to be in the Moffat County Fair Parade, which is at noon Friday. Karl Huntsman is on the Fair Board and he says everyone is welcome.

Pick up an application to be in the Moffat County Fair Parade at the Community Budget Center in Craig. The deadline is tomorrow. Call 824-9180 if you have any questions.

Craig City Council is meeting tonight to possibly approve a contract for a new city manager. That meeting is at 6 p.m. at City Hall.

The Moffat County Affiliated Junior College District Board of Control is also meeting tonight at 6 p.m. at the Academic and Student Services Building, to get a proposal on student housing.

Motor Vehicle offices in Moffat County are closed today through the rest of the week. The statewide computer system is being upgraded.

Look for some clouds throughout the day today, with a chance for a stray shower this evening. The high will be 89 today with a low of 48. Thursday will be mostly sunny.

Former Colorado Rockies star outfielder Matt Holliday has been signed to a minor league contract. The 38-year-old is playing for the Grand Junction Rockies, which is their rookie team. Holliday played the first five seasons of his 14-year career with the Colorado Rockies, and helped the team make it to the World Series in 2007. He has been recovering from injuries.

The Seasonal Club State Championships for swimming are this weekend, starting Friday. The meet is in Colorado Springs. Twelve Craig Sea Sharks have qualified for the state summer meet.
