The Moffat County High School Football team is headed down the road to Meeker Friday night. The two teams will kick off their abbreviated season with a game at 7:30 at Starbucks Stadium. Moffat County is playing Meeker because the Bulldogs game against Manitou Springs was canceled because of COVID at Manitou Springs High School. Meeker’s Friday night game was also canceled so CHSAA set it up so the Bulldogs can play the Cowboys. Here’s Moffat County Athletic Director Jeremy Cheuvront.

The Soroco Rams have a home game this Friday night in South Routt. They’re playing Sanford. Here’s Soroco Head Football Coach John DeCosta.

Soroco plays 8-man football. Twenty-one players are on the roster. Kickoff for the Soroco-Sanford game is at 6 p.m. this Friday night in Oak Creek.

The Hayden Tigers are on the road against Mancos Friday evening

Coffee and a Newspaper is tomorrow morning at the Craig Hotel. The special guest is Andy Daniels, the CEO of Memorial Regional Health. Coffee and a Newspaper is hosted by the Craig Press. It starts tomorrow at 7 a.m. at the Craig Hotel at 377 Cedar Circle.

Hayden Town Hall

The town of Hayden is having a public forum for the seven candidates running for three seats on the Hayden Town Council. It’s an online event through Zoom.




You can get rid of your Household Hazardous Waste this Saturday. Madison Muxworthy is the Waste Diversion Director for the Yampa Valley Sustainability Council.

The dropoff is from 8 a.m. to noon at the Meadows Parking Lot in Steamboat Springs Saturday. This is for Moffat and Routt County residents. Then another Community Recycle Day is coming up on Saturday, Oct. 31. That will be for electronics, mattresses, batteries and appliances with Freon.
