Vaccinations are opening up to the general public on Friday. That means anyone 16 or older can be vaccinated. The state has recently received over 400,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine so that’s why eligibility has been expanded. Close to double that amount is expected in the next couple of weeks as well. Of all of the employees at Casey’s Pond assisted living in Steamboat, 69% of them are vaccinated for COVID-19. One has recently tested positive which resulted in two residents testing positive, despite 93% of residents being vaccinated. Pam Sullivan is with the management partner of Casey’s Pond.
Sullivan says Casey’s Pond is following all of the COVID mitigation protocols, and that not all employees are able to be vaccinated.
Right now in Moffat County, there is one active case of COVID, 791 people have recovered, and no one is hospitalized. 24 Moffat County residents have died of COVID.
A Granby man has pleaded guilty to murder. 33-year-old Christopher T. Corcorran pleaded guilty to second degree murder for the death of 42-year-old Dustin Bryant of Wheat Ridge. Bryant’s body was found dumped in Jackson County, naked with stab wounds in his chest. The courts said the two had met to smoke meth and have sex. Then Corcorran stabbed Bryant and dumped his body. Corcorran faces a sentence of 28-32 years in prison, based on the plea agreement.
The Finance Director for the City of Craig is retiring after 24 years. Bruce Nelson’s last day will be this Friday. The Craig Press reports that Nelson and his wife plan to help their son run Spa Country in Craig part-time, and do some traveling.
