Craig Police are investigating a robbery in Craig Tuesday night. It happened at Severson Supply at 173 Clay Ave. The business was closed and an employee was working late. A man came into the business, pulled out a firearm, and demanded cash from the employee. He got the money and then left, heading north on Clay. The male suspect is described as a younger white male, about 6’2”, possibly with blond hair, and wearing all black and a black face mask. Please contact Craig Police or Crimestoppers if you have any information. You could be eligible for a cash reward.

Routt County has to submit a mitigation plan to the state of Colorado because of a continued high number of new cases of COVID-19. There are sixteen new cases in the past week with 37 in two weeks. One case included a second student at Steamboat Springs High School. Routt County Commissioner Tim Corrigan says if the public doesn’t start trying harder to avoid getting Covid, the Board of Public Health would have to impose more rules and start enforcing those rules to get the disease under control.

Routt County has 210 total cases and Moffat County has 73.

Lauren Boebert was in Steamboat Wednesday. Boebert is the Republican running against Democrat Diane Mitsch Bush of Steamboat, for Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District. Ballot count, Moffat County residents have now returned 3,927 ballots as of Tuesday evening.

 

The Middle Fork Fire in Routt National Forest is at 50% containment. There are about a dozen hot spots mainly on the northern boundary. Fire officials are opening up some more of the closed area.

Harvest Homecoming is happening in Moffat County on Friday. It celebrates fall, football, and the Moffat County community. The Homecoming Parade will start at 1 p.m. on Friday afternoon. The Homecoming football game is Friday night at 7 p.m. The Bulldogs will play Woodland Park. Hayden is on the road against Rangely.
