Plans are set for #MeatInMoffatCounty on Saturday, March 20. Moffat County Commissioners made an official resolution that that day is Meat-In Day for Moffat County, in response to Colorado Governor Jared Polis saying it is “Meat Out” Day. Here’s Kacey Green with the Moffat County Cattlewomen.

Green says there will be a downtown celebration of livestock producers from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on that Saturday, March 20. It’s in Alice Pleasant Park. Then there is a Meet & Greet with the cattlewomen from 4-6 p.m. that afternoon at Vallarta’s. Find out all of the plans on the Moffat County Beef Facebook and Instagram pages. https://www.facebook.com/MoffatCountyBeef

Four staff members at Colorado Northwestern Community College have been recognized with the Commitment to Excellence Awards from the Colorado Community College System. Those recognized from CNCC are Jessica Wollman, Angie Kenney, Tiffany Douglass, and Dwaine Chesser.

It’s a big day for Moffat County sports as the Season B athletes competing in their different state playoff competitions are getting the official good-luck send off. The Moffat County Girls Basketball team heads down to Delta for the “Great Eight” round in the 3A State Playoffs. That game starts at 6 p.m. tonight. Delta will be streaming the game using the NFHS Streaming Network.

Four Moffat County wrestlers are also headed to the State Tournament in Pueblo. Girls wrestle today, Class 2A and 3A boys are Friday, and the 4A and 5A boys are Saturday. You can listen to live coverage of the state wrestling tournament here on KRAI.

And good luck to the girls swim team at Moffat County as they are getting the official good-luck sendoff as well. The Class 3A girls swimming and diving state championship meet will not be this weekend because of the big snowstorm that’s predicted along the Front Range. Instead, the meet will be Monday at the Veteran’s Memorial Aquatic Center in Thornton.

From Routt County Public Health… We’re all in this together. Please wear your masks and keep socially distant. Help make COVID stop with you.
