Routt County Commissioners voted to extend the current public health order for 60 days, to the end of September, with no changes to the ordinance except the date.

Commissioner Doug Monger voted against it even though he is in support of wearing masks. He says it should be a personal responsibility instead of regulated. Also that it is the same as the state order, and the communities in Routt County are different from each other.

Routt County Public Health Medical Officer Dr. Brian Harrington reminded commissioners that there have been positive cases throughout the county.

Also at Wednesday’s Public Health meeting, new interim Public Health Director Roberta Smith joined commissioners.

Smith replaces Kari Ladrow who is now the full-time Public Health Director for Moffat County.

Fill out your census form. You can do it at My2020census.gov. Starting later this week, census takers will be visiting neighborhoods, and going to homes where owners haven’t yet responded to the 2020 census. At least that’s being reported by the Meeker Police. So get that done and scratch it off your list.
