Moffat County has been moved to the Safer-at-Home Level Yellow, down from Protect our Neighbors. This is due to two weeks of increased numbers of COVID-19 in the county. The most recent tally on Friday is 147 positive cases of COVID-19 in Moffat County. On Friday, there were 26 new positive cases from five days before. Three Moffat County residents were admitted to the hospital last week. Three more had to be transferred to a higher level of care due to the severity of their illness.
Sandrock Ridge Care and Rehab continues to have rising numbers of positive cases. The recent total has seven employees and 11 residents who have tested positive for COVID-19.
All Moffat County residents are being asked to wear masks in all public places and businesses, do not gather with groups outside of your own household, stay socially distant, wash your hands, and stay home if you feel sick.
The Craig Chamber of Commerce is changing their hours. Offices are open for pickup only from 10 am. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is through Nov. 27.
Routt County was told by the state to move down even further, to the Orange “High Risk” Level last week. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is reporting 390 total cases for the county as of Sunday with 104 in a week and 160 in two weeks.
People in both counties are being told to stay home if you can. No group gatherings, just stay with your family. Don’t go out if you don’t have to right now. In Routt County, if there are group gatherings or parties that are over the ten person limit from two families, local law enforcement could get involved. Here’s Routt County Sheriff Garrett Wiggins.
Steamboat Springs High School is closed as is the new school in Hayden because of COVID cases. Routt County Public Health will have a testing clinic from 8-10 a.m. tomorrow morning at the Routt County Fairgrounds in Hayden. Schedule an appointment through the Public Health website.
Steamboat Ski Resort won’t open as scheduled on Saturday. Opening day has been delayed until Tuesday, Dec. 1.
Moffat County Bulldogs are headed for the 2020 Colorado State Football Playoffs in Class 2A. The Bulldogs are ranked 8th. They’ll play the number one seed Resurrection Christian. The game is at 1 p.m. Saturday at Windsor High School. The Bulldogs are undefeated in league play but 4-1 overall.

In the Class 1A Football, Meeker is ranked 7th for the playoffs, with a 5-1-0 record. The Cowboys will play the Indians from Strasburg High School. Strasburg is 6-0 and ranked second. The game right now is scheduled for Thursday, and it’s away, but that date could change.
In the 8-man football standings, Rangely is ranked 5th in the playoffs with a perfect 6-0-0 record. Rangely travels to 4th-ranked Dove Creek for their first game. Time and date is TBA.
