Partly cloudy skies are in the forecast for Craig this week, with some snow in Steamboat. Then more rain and snow will be back in Craig on Sunday.
While some moisture is expected, water users should still plan on drought conditions this summer, according to the latest projections from the US Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). February was good but hydrologists are still projecting below-average streamflows throughout the state, mainly due to dry soil moisture conditions and low base river flows. The Colorado and Yampa-White River basins are the only basins in the state with above average reservoir storage.
