Craig Police and Federal Law Enforcement agencies have intercepted just over three pounds of methamphetamine last week. 47-year-old Nancy Grijalba of Craig was arrested in connection with the movement of the drugs. The 14th Judicial District reports that her charges are Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, which is a Class 1 Drug Felony. She was also charged with Child Abuse. Grijalba’s bond was set at $50,000.

Two midwives have been added to the staff at the UCHealth Women’s Care Clinic in Steamboat Springs. Liz Kilmer-Sterling made the move from Craig after Memorial Regional Health ended its obstetric services in January. She says she has delivered about 25 babies in Steamboat since then. Nurse-midwife Jennifer Allen started in May.

The Craig community has organized a fundraiser on Saturday for Diana Booco. Friends are having a multi-family garage sale and chili cookoff to support the single mom who is going through cancer treatments. Hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow at 40 Ervin Street, which is north of Craig off of County Road 105.

In Rifle, the Farmers Market is now online and virtual. You place your order by noon on Thursday at RifleFarmersMarket.com. Then you pick up that order from 5-7 p.m. on Friday evening at Rifle Middle School, across the street from the park. The virtual Rifle Farmers Market will run 12 weeks through Sept. 4.

Fireworks will be flying over Steamboat Lake State Park on the 4th of July, if enough money is raised. The park is trying to raise $10,000 to have the display.
