As of this morning, there have been 672 total positive cases in Moffat County, with 26 active cases right now. 622 people have recovered. For the death tally, according to the Moffat County Coroner, 24 residents of Moffat County have died because of COVID or with COVID.

Vaccinations have been given to health care workers and vulnerable populations, like at Sandrock Ridge. Here is Moffat County Public Health Director Kari Ladrow.

Those 70 and over can be vaccinated at the Medical Office Building next to Memorial Regional Health. Call 970-826-2400 to make an appointment for next week.

Moffat County Public Health is helping with any overflow for those 70 and over. Plus, first responders and frontline essential workers can call to schedule a vaccine with Public Health at 970-629-4002.



Others that will be starting to provide vaccines are Northwest Colorado Health. And Walgreens has a contract with the federal government.

Routt County’s total tally jumped to 1,112 cases on Thursday evening, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. That’s 18 new cases in one day with 70 in a week and 124 in the past two weeks. 18 Routt County residents have died because of COVID.

Two new district managers have been hired for the Bureau of Land Management. The Northwest Colorado District will be led by Elijah Waters who will be stationed in Craig. Greg Larson is the district manager for the new Upper Colorado River District based in Grand Junction. Both start work on Jan. 17. The Northwest Colorado District manages 3.1 million surface acres across the Kremmling, Little Snake and White River field offices.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol is hosting a free child seat safety check this Saturday in Laramie. It’s from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Station One with the Laramie County Fire District #2. About 59% of child seats are incorrectly installed in a vehicle, according to the National Highway Safety Administration.

Visit Moffat County has come up with four new Moffat County Welcome signs. They plan to announce the final selection at their board meeting next Wednesday. You can see those choices on the KRAI Facebook and website.
