Moffat County Commissioners had a special thanks for employees and the community at their meeting this week, since it’s been such a difficult year. Here’s Commissioners Ray Beck, Don Broom, and Don Cook.

Moffat County’s COVID-19 case count went up two cases on Thursday, to 603. That’s 149 active cases right now with 20 deaths among Moffat County residents.

On Wednesday, two COVID-19 patients were admitted to the COVID unit at Memorial Regional Health in Craig.

Rio Blanco County has three new cases of COVID as of Thursday evening, so their total number has gone up to 260, with two deaths since March. Rio Blanco County has had 53 cases in two weeks.

 Routt County now has 988 cases of COVID-19 since March, according to the CDPHE on Thursday afternoon. That’s ten new cases in one day and 47 cases in a week. The number of COVID deaths in Routt County is 18. But that number is expected to go up.

Lauren Boebert

Congresswoman-elect Lauren Boebert plans to challenge the Electoral College when she gets to Washington DC. Boebert represents Colorado District 3 which includes Moffat, Rio Blanco, and Routt Counties, along with the Western Slope and Pueblo.  Boebert says when she takes office Jan. 3, she will challenge the results of the presidential election which was won by former Vice President Joe Biden. The Colorado Sun reports that so far, President Trump and his allies have lost more than 40 challenges to the presidential election in various courts across the country.

Some of the sidewalks on Yampa Avenue will be replaced early next year. Most of the work will be done on the 400 and 500 block of Yampa. The Craig Press reports that the City of Craig Public Works Department will be working with the Colorado Department of Transportation on the project.
