Memorial Regional Health Physician Dr. Elise Sullivan and Moffat County Public Health Medical Officer Dr. Allan Reishus are holding a Q&A at 5 p.m. today. It’s moderated by Pastor Leonard Browning. They’ll discuss how vaccines are made, tested and approved, along with vaccine efficacy and safety. You can join via Zoom.

Spots are going quickly for Monday’s drive-through clinic for the COVID-19 vaccine. It’s at 1050 Industrial Ave., which is at the Craig Fire/Rescue facilities behind the old Kmart. Over 500 Johnson and Johnson vaccinations will be given out. That’s the one-dose. Make sure you wear loose clothing and you are well hydrated. The vaccinations are available to anyone over 18.

Vaccinations in Northwest Colorado

News from the North in Wyoming. The Sweetwater Events Complex is moving forward with plans for Wyoming’s Big Show in 2021. It had to be canceled last year. Country star Frankie Ballard takes the stage first, on Thursday, Aug. 5, with more big time acts through the weekend, along with 4-H and FFA events throughout the week. https://www.sweetwaterevents.com/

And then there is the Moffat County Fair at the same time. It will be full of 4-H and FFA fun, rodeo, concerts, and big events throughout the weekend. Kyler Scott on the fair board says the Open Horse Show starts July 31st and the Livestock Sale wraps up August 7, with all sorts of excitement in between. https://www.moffatcountyfair.com/

Neil Folks has received the Bill and Nancy Muldoon Humanitarian of the Year award. Bill used to work with the Utah Division of Wildlife but has also volunteered with prisoners and with children in Moffat County.
