A pursuit that spanned three counties and 185 miles on Interstate 80 yesterday ended safely west of Laramie, Wyoming. Yesterday afternoon, Wyoming law enforcement received information that a stolen car was traveling on I-80 near Rock Springs. Shortly after, a Sweetwater County Deputy spotted the stolen car about 11 miles east of Rock Springs. A traffic stop was initiated, but the car never stopped and in fact accelerated up to 130 mph. The pursuit continued east into Carbon County, with the driver of the stolen vehicle, 28-year old Joshua Law of Kentucky, getting on and off the interstate several times. The pursuit ended about five miles west of Laramie. Law was taken into custody without incident. He has been booked in the Albany County Detention Center for eluding and multiple warrants for identity theft and burglary. Charges in Carbon and Sweetwater Counties from the pursuit and vehicle theft are pending. No injuries were sustained in the 1 hour and 46 minute long pursuit.
