Moffat County is hosting a community meeting Tuesday to allow the public to provide input on how county resources are being prioritized. The county recently instituted a “Priority Based Budgeting” process, which identifies every service the County offers; the cost of providing those services; and key characteristics about each service. Business leaders, non-profit representatives and the community are encouraged to attend and help analyze county services, in an effort to determine how the County may be able to partner together, combine forces, or even consolidate services where appropriate. The meeting will be held Tuesday from 11 to 2 at the Moffat County Fair Grounds Pavilion.
- Leading the conversation will be Chris Fabian who helped lead Moffat County’s implementation (Chris is co-founder of Resource Exploration and the Center for Priority Based Budgeting, who have implemented PBB in over 170+ communities)
- Joining Chris will be Clay Brown from the State of Colorado’s Department of Local Affairs’ Division of Local Government.
- And accompanying Chris and Clay will be the City of Englewood, Colorado’s Eric Keck who has implemented Priority Based Budgeting in two cities, as well as the private sector.
