Hunters Should Prepare For Bear Encounters

grizzly bearAfter two recent bear attacks in Wyoming and Montana, the Sweetwater County Sheriffs Office is encouraging hunters to take special precautions when hunting in grizzly country. Hunters in bear country are particularly susceptible to bear encounters because of their use of artificial game calls and due to the fact they are moving quietly often during the dawn and dusk hours. To minimize the chance of a deadly encounter with a bear, always hunt with a partner, remain alert, and carry bear spray where it is quickly accessible and easy to use.
