Due to winds and low humidity in the area, the Beaver Creek fire continues to expand. Because of the expansion, crews began focusing protection on additional homes in the area that may be threatened, those structures are in the Parsons Draw area, about two miles from the western edge of the fire. Crews are removing brush and debris and installing sprinkler systems around those buildings to make them easier to protect. The Beaver Creek fire burning northwest of Walden two miles from the Wyoming state line has affected nearly 12,000 acres of land and is only 5% contained.
