Bad Weather Contributed To Plane Crash

The National Transportation Safety Board has released a preliminary report concerning the plane crash that killed a Fort Collins family earlier this month. The report found the pilot, 47-year-old Jeff Makepeace was flying through high winds and low visibility when he crashed the plane 9 miles north of Rifle. Makepeace, his wife Jennifer and their ten year old twins were all killed in the incident.  To view the preliminary report from the Transportation Safety Board, click here.
