Hickenlooper Pardons 17 Former Convicts

Seventeen former convicts who’ve completed their sentences have been pardoned by Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper. The majority of the convicts had drug crimes on their records, four were arrested for burglaries, and two were assault cases. Governor Hickenlooper said in a statement that he believes the individuals pardoned “earned the opportunity for a second chance.” Hickenloper is also considering releasing another 40 inmates, who are currently being held on nonviolent marijuana convictions.
