The four people who were injured in a head on accident on Rabbit Ears Pass Sunday morning have been identified. 52-year-old Thomas Garman of Westminster was traveling with a 15-year-old female, when he lost control colliding with a car being occupied by 41-year-old Mathew Close and 37-year-old Katarzyna Kocol of Denver. Garman was seriously injured during the incident, and required extrication from his vehicle. All four were taken from the scene to the hospital for treatment. Garman was later flown via helicopter to a hospital in Denver. According to representative from the Colorado State Patrol, in addition to icy and snow packed roads, it’s also believed that Garman was traveling at an excessive speed. All four were wearing seat belts when the accident occurred. Photos courtesy of Steamboat Springs Fire and Rescue, click to enlarge.
